Fraud-accused Maoist CA member gets party's boot The Unified CPN (Maoist) has suspended its lawmaker Bishwodeep Lingden from the party on charges of fraud in a property case. Lingden, who was elected from Jhapa constituency-7, beating CPN-UML heavyweight K.P Sharma Oli in the Constituent Assembly election, has been accused of deceitfully taking possession of a house and land plots of two persons from Jhapa's Damak. The property is worth over 10 million rupees, it is learnt. A meeting of the party's Kochila State Committee decided to suspend Lingden. Party secretary C.P Gajurel was also present at the meeting that decided to suspend him. A three-member committee has been formed to investigate the fraud charges against Lingden. nepalnews.com |
