Ailing Koirala shifts to daughter Sujata's house

Nepali Congress president Girija Prasad Koirala shifted to his daughter Deputy Prime Minister Sujata Koirala's residence in Mandhikhatar from his rented residence in Maharajgunj on Friday.

Koirala left his Maharajgunj residence after the renovation works at Sujata's house completed. Koirala's new abode has better facilities including a cabin that will be handy during medical emergencies, it is learnt.

NC acting president Sushil Koirala and some other party leaders were present at Maharajgunj when Koirala left his residence.

The octogenarian Congress leader, whose health condition has deteriorated in the last few days, had expressed his will to stay with his daughter few months back.

Koirala, 87, had been staying at the rented bungalow since July 2008.

Most of the meetings of the NC and the three-party high-level political mechanism used to be held at Koirala's residence. nepalnews.com
