PM approves state home minister Ansari's resignation

Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has approved the resignation of State home minister Rijwan Ansari.

Ansari had submitted his resignation to PM Nepal earlier today, citing his differences with home minister Bhim Rawal.

PM Nepal called Ansari at his Baluwatar residence Tuesday evening and asked him to step down.

He sent the resignation letter to PM Nepal through the secretary of the Prime Minister's Office, Lila Mani Poudel.

Ansari has been critical of home minister Rawal for the deteriorating security situation and the murder of two media entrepreneurs within a month.

Ansari, the only directly elected UML lawmaker in the current cabinet, was appointed to the position some eight months ago. nepalnews.com
