NEPSE sees double digit loss

Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has on Wednesday saw a double digit loss as it went 11.1 points down to rest at 489.61 points.

Except the hydropower, the sub-indices of all the groups, whose shares were traded today, went down.

The group categorised as 'others' lost the most as it declined by a shocking 42.29 points to slide to 548.7 points. The commercial banks, heavyweight in the capital market, lost 6.49 points to finish at 461.9 point. Similarly, development banks and finance decreased by 5.29 points and 1.11 points respectively.

Trading, hotels and insurance dis not see any transaction today.

The sensitive index, which measured the performance of "Group A" companies, lost 3.02 points to end at 119.72 points.

NEPSE traded 61,180 units of shares worth Rs 26,227, 540 in 963 transactions.

In terms of turnover, Bank of Kathmandu (Rs 3,698,148) occupied the first position followed by Standard chartered Bank Limited (Rs 2,640,384), Chilime Hydropower Co. (Rs 2,098,250), Sunrise Bank Limited (Rs 1,899,580) and Vibor Bikas Bank Limited (Rs 1,455,880) respectively. nepalnews.com
